What?

The real high-quality specialties are found at very high altitudes, in the terra enriched in volcanic soils, with numerous fresh mountains streams.

Where?

Planadas: Tolima is one of the most isolated coffee producing regions of Colombia located in the Central Colombia Andes mountains of Tolima nestling between the vast Parques Nacionales Natural Nevado and the Parque Nacional Natural Cordillera De Los Pichachos Andes Mountain ranges. With very limited access, other than through the town of Coyaima - mainly dirt road with conditions permitting - it is a 12-hour road trip from Ibague the province capital, at an altitude of 1600-2000 MASL

Who?

The Planadas area represents 48 coffee producing hamlets representing 6821 small farms ranging from .5 to 6 hectares, renown for producing some of Colombia’s finest specialty Micro-lot coffees, are now gaining a reputation for their higher quality commercial community coffees.

How?

Coffees are all grown the artisanal way, fully washed and fermented up to 36 hours, sun dried, only selecting the finest of the beans when ripe all are hand-selected.
